About
Off-licence franchise owned by Bestway, which existing retailers join to trade under the Bargain Booze name.
Information
Bargain Booze is an off-licence chain that operates as a franchise, with independent retailers trading under its name. It was founded in Sandbach, Cheshire, in 1981, began franchising in 1988, and has been owned by the wholesaler Bestway since 2018. The Grocer reported 455 Bargain Booze stores in December 2025.
Franchisees are typically existing shop owners who convert their store to the brand, and the model allows one owner to run several stores. The brand offers rebates linked to spend, promotions that change every four weeks, an EPOS system, deliveries up to twice a week, 14-day payment terms and a dedicated business support manager. It supplies a new point-of-sale kit every four weeks and offers co-investment in store development.
For details of the franchise package, see the brand's own franchise page.
Details checked against the brand's website and trade press in November 2026.
